The move to electric will mean the move from oil to however our electricity is generated. For the next 30 or so years, natural gas will be a big part of that. The goal, is to move towards more solar or wind.

But even with today’s electricity generation, the article points out that it’s much more efficient to use today’s electricity than oil. So as the grid gets more green, there will be even more upside.
